Another pro is the better availability of this sort of parts. You can find them in most car repair shops and retail stores. OEM parts on the other hand, has to be bought exclusively in dealerships.

The disadvantage in using this kind of parts is the fact no guarantee is given for the quality of lesser known brands. An array of choices can daunt a person and the part with less quality might be chosen because of that. No warranty is also given to some of these parts.

The pros and cons in aftermarket body panels should help you decide on whether to use one for your car. If you decide to use one, stick with brands recommended by your mechanic.
